Lutheran Theology

The Book of    Concord contains the Lutheran confessions of faith.  These writings    are a summary of what  we believe, teach and confess to be the truths    of God's Word.  This site offers easy access to the Book of Concord,    commentary and a weekly reading related to the scripture appointed for use    in worship.
Project    Wittenberg is home to works by and about Martin Luther and other Lutherans.    Here you will find all manner of texts from short quotations to    commentaries, hymns to statements of faith, theological treatises to    biographies, and links to other places where words and images from the    history of Lutheranism live.
The    purpose of this site is to promote, extend, and defend the theology of    Confessional Lutheranism, as reflected especially in the Symbolical Books    of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The Concordia Seminary - St. Louis    Resources Website offers free, digital audio and video recordings of some Seminary courses, some Bible    Studies, and the Lay Bible Institute.

Apologetics - Defending The Faith

Sound    Witness believes that evangelism must begin with clear communication of the    objective substance of Christian faith and practice. Sound Witness seeks to    speak to the minds of people, communicating objective biblical truths so    that they might have the assurance of God's forgiveness and favor, and thus    be better equipped to discern, not only the errors of sects/cults, but also    the shifting winds of contemporary popular "Evangelicalism". Few    consider the broader implications of many aberrant teachings popular in    "Evangelicalism" today; those who do are not popular. Many    Christians, when hearing such voices, hide behind a curtain of polite    ignorance. Sound Witness aims to open this curtain and call Christians to    walk in the Light.
Answers    in Genesis is an 'apologetics' (defending the Christian faith) ministry.    Because Genesis is the most-attacked book of the Bible, AiG, as a    specialist ministry, defends the historicity of the Book of Beginnings most    of all. It is AiG's goal to equip Christians to give a credible defense of    Genesis, and to show that the Bible is the correct foundation for thinking    about - and interpreting - every aspect of reality.
The    Creation Research Society is a professional organization of trained    scientists and interested laypersons who are firmly committed to scientific    special creation. The Society was organized in 1963 by a committee of ten    like-minded scientists, and has grown into an organization with worldwide    membership.
The    Institute for Creation Research (ICR) is a Christ focused Creation ministry    where science and the Bible are fully integrated.

This website was developed to assist Evangelical-Lutherans in locating congregations which use the historic liturgy of the Church in all their services and practice Closed Communion. Whether people are traveling on vacation or business or moving to a new home, this directory will help them find Evangelical-Lutheran congregations which have not adopted worship customs from the surrounding culture, such as "contemporary worship," "praise bands," "entertainment worship."
